This Threatened Species Day, you are invited to join this ACTS member webinar hosted by the University of Tasmania.
The webinar will feature an introductory presentation by Corey Peterson and Kawinwit Kittipalawattanapol, showcasing what the University of Tasmania is doing to care for it’s unique and threatened species, particularly through the development of a Natural Environment Action Plan.
A panel session will follow, with distinguished Professor Jamie Kirkpatrick, Clare Hawkins and Zoe Bucher-Edwards discussing the importance role of citizen science (such as BioBlitz) to conservation efforts, and how you can run one in your area.
National Threatened Species Day is commemorated across Australia on September 7th to raise awareness of plants and animals at risk of extinction. It is commemorated annually on September 7th, the anniversary of the death in captivity of the last known thylacine, or Tasmanian Tiger.
