Carbon reduction and adaptation to the effects of climate change are essential for institutional resilience and business continuity. Institutions are exposed to significant climate risks and responsibilities to meet targets; and need to be taking bold steps to meet these targets while ensuring student outcomes and satisfaction are maintained.
This roundtable will focus on institutions that are working on climate change mitigation and adaption, including net-zero emissions efforts. Specific discussion areas may include:
- Plans for achieving net-zero.
- Work on Scope 3 emissions.
- Mitigation and adaptation activities.
- Research and academic knowledge in helping advance actions.
- Partnerships within your community and other stakeholders.
- Overall barriers and challenges have been identified and, if possible, overcome.
What are member roundtables?
Member roundtables are a fantastic opportunity for you to connect in an informal virtual setting to share ideas, challenges and practical solutions with colleagues from across the ACTS network.
Each meeting will be limited to a small number of active participants, allowing everyone the opportunity to share experiences from their institution on the roundtable topic. Members can also register as listen-only participants (while still able to submit questions for discussion).
There is no expectation for institutions to be doing everything perfectly (in reference to the roundtable topic), rather this is an opportunity to connect with fellow members within the ACTS community who are addressing similar challenges, and taking advantage of similar opportunities!
Whether you’re working on a specific projects, or a range of solutions, we’d love to hear from you!
