The ACTS Conference: The Future of Sustainability continues to be the only dedicated sustainability event developed by and for the tertiary education sector. Understanding the potential for the sector extends beyond addressing present challenges; it holds the power to help regenerate and usher in a future defined by sustainability principles. In its 22nd year, the conference will explore this potential across four days of programming and networking events at the University of Tasmania’s new Inveresk Campus in Launceston, Australia, along with a conference hub event co-hosted by Victoria University of Wellington and Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand.
As the educational sector becomes a crowded stage for sustainability events, what sets this one apart? The ACTS Conference brings the expertise, the applied practical tools, and the support of our unique network, with a program highlighted by expert speakers leading the charge in sustainable practices. Attendance supports professional development for those working in a diverse range of roles, within and adjacent to the tertiary education sector. It brings senior leaders with large operational portfolios together with educators, sustainability practitioners, and learners alike, amplifying their capacity to drive positive change.
The event will maximise every opportunity to bring the sustainability community together in-person; offering valuable time to connect with peers who share your passion, learn from their experiences, and be inspired by the collective strength that comes from being among others who understand the nuances of both sustainability and education. Recognising the unique challenges faced by those driving change in the sector, the event also aims to revitalise and support delegates to continue their impactful work.
