I have been a member of the ACTS Board since 2017. I got involved because I felt there was a gap in the current education and industry discourse on linking theory and practice. Campuses are a great opportunity in the form of living labs for us to link theory and practice for the decision makers of tomorrow. More so, for disciplines comprising the built environment set of professions.
What’s your favourite thing about ACTS?
ACTS is about enabling cutting-edge innovation for sustainability, which is what draws me to be part of this great team. I am part of the discourse to build my knowledge in this realm. I love the opportunities offered to close the gaps between teaching and learning, research, campus operations and governance.
What’s your biggest professional accomplishment so far?
To be the only academic/researcher, Australian woman among 30 other great individuals in co-leading the UN One Planet Network’s Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme.
What was the last book you read?
I’m currently reading Anna Quindlen’s Black and Blue.
What characteristics do you admire most in others?
Honesty, integrity, respect, humility, empathy.
